Fertility and family Planning Evaluations

A Supportive Space for Your Path to Parenthood

The path to building a family can be a journey of immense hope, profound challenges, and deep emotion. For those using Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART), the process can be complex and requires careful consideration. At Anchor & Thrive, we provide a warm, confidential, and non-judgmental space to navigate the psychological aspects of this journey.

We are here to serve as your emotional anchor, offering the supportive guidance and formal evaluations often required by fertility clinics and third-party reproduction agencies. Our goal is to ensure that all parties involved are emotionally prepared, fully informed, and ready for the steps ahead.

What is a Psychological Fertility Evaluation?

Please note: This is a psychological evaluation, not a medical one. Its purpose is to provide a supportive space for you to explore the social and emotional aspects of the ART process. It involves a comprehensive clinical interview and, in some cases, a personality assessment.

This evaluation is designed to:

  • Ensure you have a thorough understanding of the process and its potential psychological impacts.
  • Explore your motivations, expectations, and social support systems.
  • Discuss how you will navigate potential challenges and stressors.
  • Fulfill the requirements set by your fertility clinic, agency, or the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) guidelines.

Our Evaluation Services Are For:

  • Intended Parents: For individuals and couples preparing to build their family through the use of a gestational carrier (surrogacy) or donors.
  • Gestational Carriers (Surrogates): To ensure a comprehensive understanding of the process and emotional readiness for the commitment of carrying a pregnancy for another family.
  • Egg, Sperm, or Embryo Donors: To confirm that the decision to donate is made with full, informed consent and to assess emotional preparedness for the process.

Our Process: A Collaborative & Understanding Approach

We see this evaluation not as a test, but as a guided conversation to prepare you for your journey.

  1. Initial Consultation (15 minutes, Free): A brief, confidential phone call to discuss the reason for the evaluation, what to expect, and to answer any initial questions about the process or fees.
  2. The Clinical Interview: We will meet for a 1-2 hour session to have a thoughtful conversation. We will discuss your personal history, your support network, your understanding of the ART process, and your hopes for the future. This is a collaborative discussion, not an interrogation.
  3. Understanding Your Coping Style (If Required): Some cases require an objective personality assessment (such as the MMPI-3). This is not a pass/fail test, but rather a tool that helps us understand your unique personality and coping styles, ensuring the final report is as comprehensive as possible.
  4. Report & Feedback: We will compile a thorough, professional report that will be sent directly to your referring fertility clinic or agency.

Your Emotional Well-being is Our Priority

At Anchor & Thrive, we are dedicated to supporting you through every step of this significant life event. We provide a stable, confidential space where you can honestly explore the emotional aspects of this process, helping you feel anchored and prepared as you take the next steps to help your family thrive.
